Last night, four of us went over to Tampa to have dinner and go to a play. Dinner was great at La Teresita - Cuban restaurant. Good food and very inexpensive.
The play was The Little Dog Laughed. A closeted actor falls in love with a young hustler. There was full frontal nudity in it which caused three people to walk out, even though the program had warned people about it. Maybe the nude scene was too gay. Anyway, the play was very funny.
Last Saturday night, had a birthday dinner for Gordon. Then movie night with the guys. We had one new attendee who saw the Lambda article in the newspaper. Saw the movie Paul Blart, Mall Cop. On Sunday, had a little get together over at another friend's for Gordon. He made out pretty well this year.

The club

Had our first meeting last Tuesday, July 14. There were 8 people present. The aim of the group is to provide a social outlet for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender residents of the 55+ On Top of the World community in Clearwater, Florida. We welcome our conventionally "straight" fellow residents to participate as well. We feel that our club has a lot to add to the many social opportunities that we already have here.
Since our meeting, some of us got together on Friday to go over to Safety Harbor for third Friday, which is a monthly street festival held there. Tonight we will be having a movie night.
